At Tulise, meticulous attention is given to every stage of processing. Ripe cherries are handpicked and delivered daily to the station, where they are carefully sorted to ensure only the highest quality fruit is used. The coffee is traditionally washed using clean spring water and then dried on raised African beds, allowing for even airflow and consistent drying. This deliberate approach preserves the distinct Gedeo character—bright citrus, delicate jasmine, and a silky mouthfeel that lingers sweetly.
Beyond cup quality, Tulise Washing Station plays a meaningful role in the livelihoods of its contributing farmers. SNAP Coffee provides agronomy training, access to better tools, and fair payment structures that reward quality and sustainability. The company also invests in community projects such as clean water access and education initiatives, creating a lasting impact that extends beyond the harvest. The result is a coffee that reflects not only the terroir of Yirgacheffe but also the care and collaboration of the people who nurture it.
